my boyfriend is in spain and is planning on visiting on a tourist visa on Sept 1. we are wondering how long it took other people applying for a K1 with partner in spain for the process. mostly to know how long he will hve to wait in spain for the visa to go through. the plan was for him to come live with me and our son and rafael (boyfriend) would provide childcare. now it's all confusing.

You can count on a three-month wait after your petition is filed with the USCIS. If approved, then allow a couple of weeks for it to get to our Consulate in Spain. Then it may take one month before your boyfriend can be interviewed for the visa (according to the website: http://travel.state.gov/visa/temp/wait/tem...p;x=87&y=16
