Hotel in Moscow

We will have intervew in moscow. Which hotel do you recomment?

The Embassy area and anywhere in the Center is very expensive. Try Ismailovsky Park hotels, not too pricey and next to the Metro station.

As said above there are a lot of hotels close to the embassy but you're going to pay very high $$$$ for those. "Cheap" hotels in Moscow center are going for about $200+/night.

The Moscow Metro is really good and you can get anywhere in the city in about 30 minutes. Try staying a little farther out and taking the subway.

If money's not an object for you, there are several "western" hotels not too far away. The Mariott and others are just down the road.

We're getting close to needing to find a place for Tania to stay in Moscow, so I'm trying to look at all of the options again. I'd be interested in getting that info (contact info, prices, anything else).

Finding an apt in Moscow is almost impossible these days. There are 1 room apts for $1000+ a month and one room in a shared apt for $500 a month. Kevin, could you also give me the contact info and prices? I have expat friends in Moscow who have been looking for a place for 2 months with no luck and this may be helpful.

Apartments can be had for about $200/night. Check MoscowRick or another of the search engine finds.

Think outside the box.

There are many suburbs around Moscow located along the commuter train routes. Prices for apartments in those areas are substantially cheaper there then next to the embassy, yet central Moscow can be reached in less than 1 hour from those destinations. If you can handle sitting on a wooden bench on a Russian train for an hour each way, you'll be fine. Trains run literally from 5am to Midnight almost every 30 minutes.

Definitely agree with you, Sat. We stayed out in the 'burbs (Doobrovka station) and just took the metro everywhere we wanted to go. I just checked and her website doesn't seem to be up any more (a bad sign). I'll root through my documents tonight (since I never throw anything away) and see if I can't find her number. She only speaks Russian, however.
