I know this is not a VJ question. However, I will take my chance that someone may be able to help me.

My husband's college requires him to fill out a Financial Aid Form. After filling out the form, information regarding why he is not registered with Selective Service was requested. The form he has to fill out ask the following question:

INS status at time of entry: _____. List all alien statu(es) held since entering the country, and give dates.

Does this mean he needs to state that he entered the country on a K-1 Visa?!?!?!

Thanks for your help.

hi Boaz,

Your hubby should put "nonimmigrant fiance of a US citizen" since that is what his status was upon entering the US POE. You will also put the date he came to the US.

Kobby is all registered for school too! Its going to be an adventure

Thanks AM!

One more thing - as for the portion regarding his 'alien statu(es) held since entering the country .... what exactly is that about? In addition, to his alien status(es) held since entering the country, they would like the dates.

____ to _____ USCIS Status: __________

Not sure how to answer this.

Once again ... THANKS!

Boaz, I'm really not sure but I would think that you would put something like "nonimmigrant married to US citizen in process of adjusting status" I would put the date they received the your application to adjust status to present.

Hope this helps, mama!
