So we have our check, which is what we were waiting for to get the ball rolling and send off the first lot of paperwork. He is gonna post it all then, i am so excited, i will feel so much more releaved knowing that this is the start of the process...The ebassay posted all of our paperwork to us, they also included the I-129 form, do we send them all together? or is there a specific time to send that??

and also, what exactly needs to be send in the first package???

a couple of things i wanted to ask is, I was planning to go visit for a couple of weeks in october, does anyone think that this would be possible?

and one more thing is, i have been trying to figure out the timelines, and honestly, i dont know whether i dont get them or i just cant concentrate long enough to figure them out, i wanted to get a rough idea how long it usually takes, OR if there is anyone here from ireland that is or has gone through the same process that i can chat to, part of my is thinking it can't possibly take as long as some people has told me, then part of me doesn't even wanna believe that its very likely that it'll be longer than i think.

I am having a tough day today, one of those days we all hate and dread so much. just need some good news to lift my spirits,

i would really appreciate any help at all ;)

:)

Welcome.

You're going to want to read all the tabs at the top of the forums. Specifically the Guides. The K1 Guide will have a checklist and the example forms will walk you through each document.

How long it takes depends very much on what center you send your petition to and which Consulate you are going through. You're looking at at least 6 months (+/-) on average.

You will find many members going through Dublin. If you click on the Portals link at the top you will find a list of others. If you click on Embassy Info you will find out about how long it takes for the Embassy stage of the process. You can also read others reveiws of that Embassy and what the process will look like.

Usually it's fine for you to visit. But you must understand that even with a valid visa it is at the discretion of the POE officer to let you in the Country. You will be wise to take anything that proves you will be going back home and ties you to your home Country... letter from employer..etc. Do a search and you will find hundreds of posts regarding this topic.

good luck

Do you know the fee is $455? It might sound silly but when I got the I-129 from the embassy in January the I-129 I receieved said the fee was $170 which was incorrect.Had it not been for this website I would have sent the wrong fee with my petition. :(
