Has anyone had to go to Rio and have the fingerprints done prior to having the interview scheduled. They have to be sent to the USA for the FBI check and clearance before the interview will be scheduled. Just wondering if anyone else has done this and how long to expect it to take.

Scroll,

You have had a name hit in one of the data bases. You are in process called a Chamelon Check. Hopefully, their calling you in advance of your interview will mean the prints will be cleared by the time of your interview. If they are still in processing at the time of the interview they can issue you a 221g for administrative review. Means you are not denied and that they will contact you once all checks are completed. Good luck.

Mary, Thank you so much. Is there somewhere I can read about a Chamelon Check?

That name showing up in name check is that same one where common names end up being double and triple checked?

Luis&Laura there are numerous name checks and once you submit an application both parties are scrutinized. So it could be any of the data bases had a hit on the name. Once you have a hit it must be overcome.
