Its definitely not but immigrant visa always takes longer to process..dependent visa does not grant employment authorization or anything..I know but still it sucks to be a citizen in the case of visa filing.

in that case, K3 doesnt grant employment authorization either...this is one F***ed up process most of which doesnt make any sense...fiance gets priority over wives/husbands..H1 dependents can accompany their spouses while our spouses cannot and have to wait....H1 dependents who are nobodies in this country (cannot earn and dont pay taxes), basically, can have a nice vacation here while our spouses sit there and wait for us....shame on USCIS!!

It just doesn't make sense why it takes longer for a citizen to get his spouse to US than a foreign temp worker.

I have a hard time explaining to my family and friends why a friend whose husband a H1B worker can get a dependent visa within a week, and I am still stuck here waiting out for a visa!

Yes, 'family values' is just BS.... We all know who is important and has a voice in this country, the corporations who sponsor the H-1Bs and not the citizens/taxpayers!!!
