Hey guys,

I want to know if we can apply for SSN after we get marry or do we need it before we get marry?

We are in no rush to do anything specific, jobs and etc. But, after applying for AOS, can my fiancee go to school and get a job later? or does she needs to apply for some other visa?

Assistance is appreciated.

Thanks in Advance

Tanffy

That depends on the County you are to be married in. Some will require SS#... some will not.

Best to wait to file for your SS# a couple weeks after your fiance enters the Country so you're in the system ...but dont wait until the last minute to do it either.

I'm not sure about the 'going to school' without having adjusted status question. I'm sure someone with a little more wisdom regarding this can help.

good luck.

Get your SS# about 2 weeks after the fiance arrives into the US. I believe they will not issue a SS card if your I94 is close to expiration, so the sooner the better (and before marriage).
