Kay, I've read almost everything I could get my hands on for free. and I'm starting to really loss it by not understanding anything.

Could someone help me out?

My Fiance wants to do the k-1 visa instead of travling over to visit at a later point in time deciding if he likes it here or not.(So we dont commit fraud. as he'd have no intent to stay when he got here if he didn't know what it'd be like first. hense visit.)

But, he's currently in the UK. I dont understand how to do the packet. It says I need his information, pictures, and for him to sign things aswell. Can he do that at the US embacy in London? Or does he needs to mail me, those documents for me to then send to the US gov? Will i NEED them 100% when I send in the i-129f packet? Or can he do his share at the us embacy?

I'm sorry if these seem dumb questions, but no where really explains these. It'd seem to me, everything is filled out at once, but how do I do that if someone is across the atlantic??

Thanks!

Hang on, you're in for a ride! The first form you need to look at is the I-129F. You will file this form on his behalf. You will need access to all the information it asks for both for yourself and him. You will also need a great deal of biographical info for the G-325 for both you and him. Start there. You will need to be as organized as possible and keep copies of everything!!! I suggest at least 3 complete copies of all applications and documents.

This will get you started. You will have many more questions as you go along with this process. Feel free to pop in and ask any of us at any time. I do not want to overload you right at the start but prepare yourself for an adventure in paperwork and bureaucracy.

I wish you luck and lots of patience.

Calling an illegal alien an "undocumented immigrant" is like calling a drug dealer an "unlicensedregistered pharmacist". (because somebody gives a damn)

Read the GUIDES and follow the checklist item for item. There are items you need from both of you at each stage of the process. You will need the 4 pages of the G-325 all with original signature, passport photos as well as an original letter of intent and perhaps copies of passport stamps or other proof of having met in the last two years all from him. You can find examples of these documents and forms in the 'example forms' link above.

The FLOWCHART will explain the process at each stage.

All of the links at the top of the forum can answer your questions. The search is very handy and if you get stuck..there is all of us. :)

As a side note, if I may, this is quite a process to go through just to consider whether or not your fiance wants to live in the U.S. If he comes over on a K1 it's most likely going to take at least 6 months, it is a one time entry to marry you within 90 days and with the intent on staying. If he leaves the Country without AP (advanced parole..which you do after marriage when adjusting status) he will not be permitted back into the US without another visa. It's a long and expensive process to go through if you're not even sure you will want to reside in the U.S.

good luck
