I was going thru a 16 month long AP for my US Spousal visa during which time we decided because of the uncertainity that I should just apply for Canadian Immig for my wife. Now just when we were expecting her Canadian PR visa to be processed along comes my US Visa. We have now decided to move to USA. My question is that if we want to come back to wind things up here in Canada after I get my I-551 stamp on the passport. Will my wife be given a hard time because of my US status so clearly visibly by glancing thru my passport? Can she be stopped at the border or face inconvinience.

Would it be better just for us to enter the border sperately?

Thanks,

It shouldn't make a problem as far as I can see. It will - as always - be up to the border authorities but if you are asked state that you are coming into Canada to tie up loose ends before immigrating to the US. You may wish to notify Citizenship and Immigration Canada of your decision to abandon her application and she would just be entering as a regular American visitor. If you have any concerns do contact the border where you would be crossing and ask them directly.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
