Divorced and removing conditions on PR

My divorce was finalized on April 30, 2008. And I have since changed my name back to my maiden name on my driver's license, SSN card, bank accounts, etc. but I have not applied to change my name on the green card. Do I need to have a new green card with my new name to apply to remove the conditions of residence?

I am hoping not because I don't want to pay $290+$80 to change the name on my green card on top of the $465+$80 to file the petition to remove the conditions of residence! And will I have to pay another $290+$80 to get a new green card once the removal is granted?

You have to put your number down on any application you're going to send in to remove conditions so they'll match you up to your card. They probably have as well, some line to declare other names you've used etc. You'll want your NEW card to reflect your new name, so just like when you used your married name to apply for AOS and your initial GC, I'd use your now maiden name to apply to remove conditons. Just my 2 cents worth. If in doubt, call USCIS or someone who has done this already can maybe respond. Best of luck!

It's up to you if you wanted to change or not. Just make sure you have ALL documents with you when you travel outside the US that ties your old name to your now new name. You could also file I-751 in your new name and put on the "other names used", your old name in that way it'll be updated. And once you're granted the unconditional card and wanted to apply N-400, you can also update your name.On my part, I applied for I-90 after I have been granted my 10yr card for my name change just so all my ID's are all the same and to avoid unnecessary stuff along the way. Although I traveled outside US with different names on my ID, I didn't experienced any problems.
