I hope some of you can spare your experience with us. I had my interview at the American embassy in London on Friday June 27th. (My wife is a US citizen living and working here). We were asked to get one last piece of paperwork to them that had to come from the USA and we sent the required info back to them on Wednesday 2nd July. My question is, does anyone have an experience on how long it will take before the visa arrives. We are very anxious to get the visa by this week as my wife wants to hand her notice in at work and the timing will be perfect. I have been told it’s around five days, but wondered if it’s longer because of the Courier service being used.

I hope you can let me know if you have information.

Many Thanks for your help.

Paul

Hi There

I had my interview and it was approved subject to medical results, once the embassy recieved my results my visa was issued the following day and arrived by sms the day after. So as long as the embassy process your paperwork quickly you should hear something very soon.

I had to submit additional paperwork for my visa to be issued. Took 15 days from sending the paperwork to receiving the visa.
