I don't have an answer for your question.

Most of us here are still stuck with the initial filing and NVC , may be you can post at the "AOS" section, most likely you will get someone who had gone through the same there.

If you send the application for the EAD before you send the application for AOS, you will have to pay 2 fees. Currently the fee for EAD is an additional $340. For K3, you would get a 2 year EAD. If you send in the AOS and EAD applications at the same time, your fee is $1010 and you would get a 1 year EAD.

Exactly. The $1,010 fee for the AOS covers the fee for EAD, so in other other words sending the EAD along with the AOS package won't cost you extra. If you do the EAD first, you will have to pay the $340 so they can process it and then $1,010 so they can process the AOS.
