Krikit, yea I tried that with the multiple quotes (attempting here again) and it got all messed up. I was adding color to my text and that didn't go well either. I'd be a horrible programmer! The dashes and brackets and commas and everything just make me crazy!

oh ya, i purchase the otc codeine!! alll is good in moderation, lol its actually kept behind the counter, but one just has to ask for it.

Yes, because you're a good patient. After being a nurse in the US for a while you might find yourself shocked at grown up's behaviors!! I know I was.

To everyone buying cough syrup with codeine in it...omg there's a reason it's not otc here!! Codeine is addictive and with all the alcoholism and drug abuse I've seen and heard about in Canada (at least where i've visited, don't be offended!) I'm surprised they sell that otc. As a nurse I've seen enough patients get hooked on it and repeatedly want refills when they don't need it. I hope the otc is much weaker than the script version. I took a dose once when I was sick and it made me zonk out uncontrollably. My daughter was talking to me at the time and I just couldn't stay awake, it was an awful feeling.

I just happen to have right here infront of me the last bottle I bought..... way back in March 2006! And it is still over 1/3 full - so no addictions here.... but I understand what you are saying

FYI, here are the specs:

*Life* brand cough syrup with codeine 250ml bottle,

Nasal decongestant - antitussive - expectorant,

each 5ml (1 teaspoon) contains:

- 3.33 mg codeine phosphate

- 30 mg pseudoephedrine hydrochloride

- 100 mg guaifenesin

I *think* it's a pretty mild formula.... yes??

Yes, I think the prescription has about 10mg in it (at least the one I looked up). And I have to clarify my error. The cough syrup I had when I was sick had hydrocodone in it!! No wonder I was loopy!

3/5/11 sent LOC paperwork

3/9/11 date of NOA

?/?/?? biometrics appointment

What is a Kinderegg? Are the eggs meaner here in the US???

Kinder_Surprise_Egg.jpg

Kinder Surprise, also known as a Kinder Egg (Kinder being the German word for "Children"), is a confection originally intended for children in the form of a chocolate egg containing a small toy, often requiring assembly.

Kinder Eggs containing toys are not suitable for children under the age of three due to the small parts which may be ingested or inhaled. They are sold all over the world excluding the United States, where the 1938 Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act prohibits embedding "non-nutritive items" in confections. Additionally, the Consumer Product Safety Commission issued a recall on the eggs in 1997. Kinder Egg-like confections are available, but only in a plastic? form filled with small candies and/or stickers. There are some stores in the United States that sell genuine Kinder Eggs, often in conjunction with other imported British or other European sweets, although their importation is technically illegal due to the 1938 law and 1997 recall.

The local store here was told by Customs that they weren't allowed to import them here anymore, because of toys are a choke hazard.

Seriously out of control!

Oh. I must have been thinking of the Cadbury's Creme Eggs.

On my recent trip to Canada I brought back:

-ketchup chips

-dill pickle chips

-coffee crisp, mr. big, aero bars, cadbury flakes

-tim hortons coffee

-I ate at A & W because I love their ham burgers and root beer

Those were my main things. I'm sure there are a bunch of other things..I have to think!

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

Amen to the Gravenstein apples. I miss them sooooo much! The only apple I can get here that is remotely close is a Granny Smith, but there is nothing better than the sour Gravensteins.

They are VERY milky. I think they were always advertised as a source of calcium.

When I can down here the last time I brought two boxes of Kinder Eggs and sold them to the Germans here for $2 each.

 You brat!

I've read through the posts here and was thinking about the pickles and agree with CBR Klaussen Pickles (in your cooler) are really tasty! I find ketchup here in the US too sweet, I prefer the vinegar taste of Canada's, so bring back ketchup. Cheeze Whiz, Nabob coffee (Full City), All Dressed chips are things I brought back the last time I was there. I just learned there was an A&W here in St. Louis, but I haven't been there. A&W's poutine in Saskatchewan was probably the best of the fast food poutine's I've had. Doubt if they would serve it here though. I was always a huge fan of Harvey's burgers. If I was to pick a fast food burger joint here in the US I'd have to say Hardee's was one of my favourites...not that I've been to many, but thus far anyway!
