Do I am allowed to Bring cigarettes?

Hi fiance ask me to bring 2 boxes of cigarettes but two boxes contain 400 sticks right? as i've read we are allowed to bring 200 sticks only not more than that...do they allow me to bring atleast more than 200 sticks or 2 boxes??

Any idea on this who had experienced bringing cigs more than 200 sticks?

Hi Loshiel. You're only allowed the first carton duty free. Anything more than that and you would have to pay the duty on it. Now.... having said that.... sometimes they make you pay and sometimes they do not. It all depends upon the officer.

Oh. Just wanted to add..... sometimes the duty free shop in the airport will regulate what you buy, so they may not even let you buy more than one carton anyway.

And then lie on the customs form and to the officer at POE? Not a good plan. I wouldn't be giving them any reason to turn me back.

My husband was able to bring 5 BOXES of cigarettes from the Philippines. The officers in the airport told him that they are allowed 5 boxes only.
