Hi I am currently engaged to a wonderful women from Poland.Weve been together for almost 6 years now and met when she came to the states in a college program and have had a long distance relationship ever since. My question is which is the best way to go about gettin married? She currently has a valid visitor visa,so she could come here pretty much any time,or is it better to file k-1 first? Or lastly get married overseas and apply from there?Any help would be appreciated.

Your choice. Each has its own processing time, advantages/disadvantages. Read the guides above.

Check the website for the US Consulate in Poland to see if they will accept a direct filing from a non-resident US Citizen. Some Consulates allow it, others dont.

If she came here as a tourist, got married, she would still have to return to await processing. Just dont let her overstay her visit as it could cause you/her major problems.

I finally got rid of the never ending money drain. I called the plumber, and got the problem fixed. I wish her the best.

I would look into see if where she is offers Direct Consular Filing (aka DCF). If not, then wait until her visitors visa is expired (i dont think you can apply for another one when you already have one, someone correct me if i'm wrong), and apply for a K1 or K3. K1 is the fiance visa which means she would apply to move to the USA to get married and then adjust status. K3 is you get married and want your husband\wife to move to the USA to be with you while her AOS is pending BUT remains overseas while waiting for her K3 to be granted. its been said that K1 is usually fairly quicker.

There is really no "one size fits all " answer...you'll have to read all the guides and see which is best for you, your fiancee, and YOUR situation :)

Finally finished with immigration in 2012!
