Hi all. I am adjusting from F-1 to permanent resident and I sent my package on June 4th and I received rejection notice (I-797C) today. I do not fully understand why it was rejected because the explanations are too vague and does not exactly states what went wrong. Here are the documents that sent to me back and here it says.

On i-485- The entire application package you filed along with any fees you submitted is being returned to you for the following reasons:

The principal application could not be accepted for the reasons specified on the related Notice of Action(Form I-797). Therefore the processing of

riding applications cannot continue.

On-I-130- Your application or petition is rejected because it does not contain a valid signature block of the application or petition. A signature in the

"Signature or person preparing form, if other than above" block is not a valid signature for this purpose.

On-131- The entire application package you filed along with any fees you submitted is being returned to you for the following reasons:

The principal application could not be accepted for the reasons specified on the related Notice of Action(Form I-797). Therefore the processing of

riding applications cannot continue.

The filling fees on the attached Notice of Action notice refer to application fee effectively July 30th, 2007

There was nothing about I-864, but it was sent to me as well.

Looks like on my I-130, I forgot to sign on the application. But, I do not understand why they sent my whole package was returned to me. I made 2 cashiers check, one for $355, another for $1010. My only concern is that I made it payable to "US Homeland Security", not the U.S. Homeland Security and Immigration Services. I saw a stamp over my US Homeland Security wording where it sad U.S.Homeland Security and Immigration Services.

Do you guys think that it was the only reason they sent my application back?

Or, I mistakenly checked "C", instead of "A" on the part 2 of the I-485 package. Do you guys this was the root of the problem?

If I sent this package again, do I have a possibility of receiving RFE? If anyone had the same problem please send me replies. Thank you so much for your time.

Looks like the main reason was you failing to sign!! :bonk: That and the checks are some of the first things they look at. Once they find one thing they go over everything else with a fine tooth comb!

Payee on the check was no biggy. People get away with USCIS sometimes. Looks like they were going to cash them until they discovered no signature!

I concur, probably the missing signature was the reason. Sign and resend. And check a) in part 2 of I-485. Good luck.
