Comments : Per NOA, I should expect to be notified of the date and place of interview with in 180 days of the date of NOA.

Question: Does the interview date gets delayed if I move to a different state after my fingerprinting? Also, I will maintain a house in Chicago so do I still have to file AR11? This move is temporary. Thanks.

If you are maintaining residence, IL driver's license, and will continue to receive mail at your IL address, then I would think AR-11 is not required.

You will still need to interview, and do Oath at the field office having jurisdiction over your residence in IL.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

you dont need to file AR-11 as long as your mails and driver's license has the same address.

Yes but they are too exclusive for us being only for Nebraska. Tried to start a thread up for June Texas filers but I was the only one who posted.

I was approved for US Citizenship on 2008-09-03. It was a straight forward interview. My advise for all Naturalization applicants is to reply to all answers with conviction. That actually helps the IO to feel at ease (:-)) more than you. Leave all the nerves and jitters at home. Arrive at the center as early as you can and as early as they open. (Based on my discussion with a few people there). Also, People who had their interview scheduled after me went for the interview before me because they arrived at the center before me. Parking in Chicago is relatively hard to find so arriving early helps.

IO asked for my Drivers License, Green Card and passport. Most of the questions were from the N-400 itself (Where do you currently work etc etc). The civics section was fairly easy. I don't remember the questions but if you study the guide, they should not pose a problem. The IO actually asked me if he had asked me the required number of questions, to which I said yes. Despite my reply he asked me one of the questions again. He also asked me if he had made me read and write in English. I replied No and he asked me to read and write. This was actually after he had already processed the approval letter. I guess he was merely completing the formality. The IO mentioned that I should be receiving the notice for oath within 30 days. I asked him about the location of Oath and if I could request a particular day to which he said no.

This is the best forum I have come across and I would love to help anyone who has any questions to which I can provide answers.

My wife had her interview this morning. Scheduled at 9:40 am in Houston. She passed. We got inside around 9:30 and then waited around till about 10:15/10:30. She was taken to the back and interviewed and out by about 10:40. But then they had us wait around for the oath letter. Which took another 40 odd minutes, which is on the 24th of September. Since I wasn't allowed back there I can only give a brief recap of the interview.

She was asked 10 Civics Questions?

- What is the color of the stars

- What is the Constitution?

- Who was the president during the Civil war?

- What ship did the pilgrims come over in?

- Some question that the answer was George Washington

She got 9 out of 10. Her nerves got to her regarding the Ship the pilgrims came over and spat out the Star spangled banner, and then quickly answered right but it was already too late. I mean she knew that question and answer from the get go and English is her first language, those bloody nerves though. The IO didn't ask for any of the documentation she brought in. We had the court records from her traffic tickets but didn't ask to see them, just asked what the tickets were for. No mention either of the days out of the country. We listed the days out of the country since her Green Card and didn't cross out 5 and put a 3.

So now we just have to wait for the oath Ceremony. Which says to be there at 7 am on a Wednesday. I wonder how long it is going to last or if the actual ceremony begins that early.
