Hello,

We have our biometrics appt. tomorrow and would like to know what all we should expect. I know that they will be taking fingerprints of my wife, but do not know the process...do they use the ink fingerprints or has newer technology been implemented? I imagine pictures will be taken, too. Anything with DNA swabs or anything of that?

I know she'll need her appointment letter and maybe the NOA's. Is there anything else we need to bring or know or expect about tomorrow?

Will I be able to acoompany my wife wherever they take her, and if not, will I at least be allowed to be somewhat close by?

Also, how should she dress? Normal casual, semi-dressy, dressy?

Thanks.

D

PS- the appt is at the new Raleigh, NC office.

Don't worry. Its probably the easiest process so far. Just wear what you normally do. I wore a cotton skirt and a casual top. Carry your passport wth I-94 and visa, a photo ID with the same name as on AOS ppwk (married or maiden), Biometrics appointment letter that they will stamp after taking your fingerprints (new technology, pretty simple - no messy ink) and taking a photo.

They will give you a form to fill too before calling your name. I was done in 5 minutes. All the best

be there atleast 15 minutes before the schedule. She can wear just jeans-shirt clothing nothing really fancy about going to biometrics. NO DNA test. They have scan machine to do the fingerprinting no more ink era. Bring her passport, state ID, SSN (if she have all these already) and the appointment letter. NO cellphones, cameras or other digital devices allowed. You are allowed to go inside the office with your wife and take a seat while waiting for her done the whole process which would only take not more than 20 minutes, depends of how many clients are scheduled for that day.

God luck!

the passport and visa with I-94 is good enough as a valid id. you may or may not have ss card/state id/driver license to have your biometrics. the latter mentioned id's are not really necessary to comply the aos process.
