Hi there,

Finally i am ready to file for I -751. I have quite a dumb question but here it goes: How do we get the IRS tax transcripts? Do we call IRS and ask them to mail the transcripts?? am i right? Also husband and I are joint users of couple of credit cards. The monthly statement of these cards doesn't show both of our names as we have different numbers but same a/c.

Is there any use of these card statements if i send them as an evidence? How can i make it more appropriate to present as an evidence? *confused*

Thanks in advance.

Here is the link to getting your tax transcripts:

You can include the credit card statements which should identify which card made the charge. Then include photocopies of your two credit cards and you can highlight the one with your name/number. The mailing address for the statement will also be for your address. You just need to tie you to the information on the statement. You might want to see if the card issuers will also include your name on the statement. Ours provides the charges made by my husband on our account and the charges made by me on the account on two different headings of the same statement, although they are delivered to his name and address as the mailing address. It is obvious I am also using that card. See if you can get this done.

tax return transcripts - they're free. The other ones cost money and you don't need them. I don't think there is any need to mention that you are both graduate students - USCIS isn't looking at how much money you make or have - they are making sure that you have filed as married, either jointly or individually, and that you are co-mingling your financial assets:-).
