Question about Fiancee address in Ukraine

It seems that many questions can be interpreted other ways?My fiancee in Ukraine listed the address on her passport from 5 years ago as her current address, but she is currently living (hiding from husband) with someone temporarily until its time to come to USA. The address on her International Passport was an OLD apartment, before she left her husband years ago, and no one is physically at that apartment. She wanted the passport and address to match on the G-325a forms, but when I was finalizing, i see that the embassy, after approval contacts her and sends out a package to her, but this is not possible with OLD obsolete address. She already went down to have the passport translated to English.

How do we get around this, as she has NO mail address or coming to her except to this friends house and she doesn't want to list this house for reasons of Ex, ect

Should we get a postal box and also put this in forms? or will they call her BEFORE mailing package out? and is there any penalty if she lists this address, maybe when they do police check , maybe they find out its not a valid home address? Maybe I'm ahead of averything & worrying for nothing, but trying to avoid problems after we get these papers moving along

Her thinking was that she would then have to go and reapply for passport and put new address on, and go thru lots of work, so she just listed it in the forms that old way

let me know your thoughts on this.

Thanks as always,

JB

First of all, I hope that your fiancee is not hiding from her husband, but from her EX-husband, otherwise the K1 is the wrong way to go (as well as K3, CR-1, since both of you need to be free to marry).

The address on the G-325a needs to be a valid mailing address. It doesn't matter that it's your fiancee's friend's address. Since you don't have a timeline, I'm not sure at what stage in the process you are.

Usually you don't have to apply for a new passport when you're changing your address. It might be different in Ukraine, so I'd suggest your fiancee to contact the place where passports are issued.

Good luck and all the very best on your journey!!!

In every difficulty lies an island of opportunity.

Thanks for reply, maybe I will explain better. She is hiding from an abusive EX husband and doesn't want to list address of where she is living, as he might find out somehow and show up at door to friends house. She never put this address on anything and when she gets mail, she has it sent to a friend. She listed the passport address, but its NOT a valid address, and I'm not sure this is legal, as it says RESIDENCE for LAST 5 years. She has NOT been there last 5 years, but this was address on passport, so she used it, but HOW will she get mail and contact letters from agency

So, I guess I want to know HOW do you answer RESIDENCE LAST 5 years, can we use a P.O. BOX to fill in this last 5 years? or does it have to be a physical address?

There, now I have it all spelled out correctly. I think. We are getting ready to file soon.

Thanks

JB
