VJ IMMIGRATION TIME LINES

There is a quite a bit of data reduction and "outlier" detectection as well as a several other factors but in general the dates are based on other member "actual" timelines. As it turns out there is a lot of data to look at and using a statistical model we can reach fairly good estimates. Since no case is quite average there is always some wiggle room. The more timelines in the system the better the estimates of course.

In any case, if you want more specific estimates you can create a timeline with your current info. Your timeline page will then contain estimated approval dates for you based on a lot more info. The approval dates generated here tend to be more accurate for average cases than you might think. The big problem (as inferred above) with the USCIS dates is that they are only updated once a month and are rarely able to be trusted completely based on past member experiences.

On a side note, we have some tools that are run to try to catch obvious mistakes (for dates) by members in their timelines. Some alert the member immediately when entering the dates and some we catch behind the scenes and fix (putting the wrong year, etc). Also when there are timelines with dates very ver far from a statistical mean those dates are treated differently.

I hope this helps!

PS Any suggestions to improve the system are ALWAYS welcome! This thread has even given me the reminder to take a peak and see if there are any improvements to be had (since I have a little free time now). :)

Thank you Captain , that does help understanding the VJ time lines.

Truly happy!!!

New life, new adventures, and a new attitude.

So what does that mean when I put in for my AOS - filed 10/28/05 and adjudicated/approved 5/30/2008? Its treated differently simply because it took longer?

Nope. Only statistical outliers might be removed. They have to basically be waaay outside of the norm.
