I already have an Arizona drivers license, but recently moved homes and need a new one to reflect my change of address. My current license has an expiration date of 18 months - which is what the DMV employee thought was fair since I was in the process of applying for AOS at the time.

Now that I have a green card, and social security number, I'm wondering if I'll be able to get a "expires when you're 65" licence like most Arizonans have. The reason I stressed "Arizona residents only please" is because DMV policies vary from state to state (I have had licenses from two other states), and Arizona's DMV, and policies, are definitely out there.

My current green card is for two years.

Thanks!

Based on what the lady told me when I got my DL, your two year greencard will only get you a license that will expire once that greencard expires (so in the two years). She said it wouldn't be til I was a citizen that I would get the awesome "expires when your 65" license.

That sucks! But honestly how would they even know that you're a green card holder if your just renewing your license? You don't need to show citizen ship in anyway or form, and I have a ssn just like anyone else.

They probably already have your status entered into their system. That is my guess. There is no harm in trying though,

Let me know if it works out for you!
