Dont do it Ilya lol, you gave the information you have and if people take they do and if they dont then oh well. Rebeccajo has been on here a long time and has not seen a lot of expedites granted other than the medical ones, some people need to see to believe things , or in their case just wants to have more information before they consider it to be a fact. This is a website set up for everyone on the internet to learn and ask questions about what the dont understand about the immigration process. I have not seen so many "old timers" posting in these forums in a long time so I am under the impression they are trying to get the website back up to par with information that is needed and can be used to help people. After the backlog there was a ton of problems and even though Vermont is still having problems things are better now for the most part so time to get refocused I guess. Dont take it personal, and they did say with all due respect, if you look at some of their other post you can see that is really a nice act for them.

Thank you for that.

Unfortunately, with the amount of posts among this community these days that's a near impossibility. There are few of us left from the 'old school'. Our mentors are gone from here and missed.

IMO, there are several newer members who are real students of the service - they show a willingness to learn and research, and a common sense approach to this god-awful process. However, I wonder sometimes if they aren't hesitant to post because of the voracity of other newer members who like to think they know something, when in fact they don't.

expedite requests don't work.. well, not for me.. I already asked for my I-129F / I-130.. stating it was "USCIS Error" and "Financial Loss to Individual".. My reason was that if this thing doesn't go thorough, then I would have to move back to China.. and wouldn't that count as a "financial loss" to our family?? My job is with the government now, and that still doesn't help..

Consistency, Facts, Rules, all these words shouldnt be associated with USCIS process.

Here is my story. I've lived problem free life, payed my taxes. One day I decided to marry this girl. But to do so would require her to come to US of A, and so it started. My problem free live turned in to free problems from USCIS! Sure things turned to unsure, certain dates turned to aproximation within months. All logical thinking was out the door, as I filed my papers withing famous Vermont Centre!

rebeccajo has been helpful to a lot of people  and we have had our arguments before, but we are ok now  hehe.. I would try an expedite request if I were you (OP) though.. keep trying all kinds of things like me.. finally I had to choose a lawyer and go for the writ of mandamus (lawsuit) against them.. it will play out in 3-4 months from now..

"Once we received the above, we will issue the demand letter. The demand letter will instruct CIS to adjudicate your application within 30 days. If no response is received within 30 days, we will prepare to file the mandamus. The government has 60 days from the receiving the lawsuit to file their response. They are entitled to a 30 days extension. Basically it is at least 3-4 months to complete the process." - direct from lawyer

I know it seems like that sometimes. This is a hard process. It's one of the hardest things you will do.

My husband and I were lucky with the visa part. But we weren't with the greencard.

A CR1 visa is a really good visa to get. There won't be much paperwork after you are finally reunited. I know that seems like no consolation now, but trust me - it's a good thing. I'm further down this immigration road than you and there are many, many hassles with a blended internationl marriage. The fact that immigration hassles will not be a part of that new life for a while (at least until you lift conditions) is a very good thing.

It's a very complicated area of law, and those who are true 'experts' working for large immigration specialty firms are usually the best and brightest who graduated with their JD.

My boss' former college roommate ended up becoming a US Attorney. He headed up the team of lawyers who helped codify the last batch of major changes to US immigration law in 1996. I never publicize the guys name on VJ (and I won't now), but my boss tells me he used to see his old friend as a talking head on CNN, etc. occasionally when immigration was hot in the news. The gentleman has since gone into private practice for a major firm who specializes in US immigration law.

Yep I bet you'd have to know all ins and outs and be a complete expert, due to how many outs the immigration laws has. Almost no accountability whatsover. They should just privatize the processing services like medicare does.

Somehow after seeing all my father's recent medical bills for a 33 day hospital stay, I don't think that would be a good thing. :P

Since you've got time on your hands right now, google around and read about the service over the last couple of decades.

You'll be stunned to learn that many things are actually quicker and much better. There's still a long road to go and the main challenges are eliminating the paper processes. But the black hole really isn't as dark as it used to be - at least for most of us. The sad cases you do find - of cases taking years and years - will help you appreciate how to make the best of a bad situation.

Why is it that some cases really do take years and years?, is it the back log of name checks?? There must be a easier way to be with your loved one, from short of moving there with them. Good luck everybody.

Truly happy!!!

New life, new adventures, and a new attitude.

Yeah I am sorry your case is taking so long. I think if that happens I'll get some friends and we'll go with picket signs to our congressmen's office and rioted until on FOX's news channel :)

I wonder if that will work

Here is my story. I've lived problem free life, payed my taxes. One day I decided to marry this girl. But to do so would require her to come to US of A, and so it started. My problem free live turned in to free problems from USCIS! Sure things turned to unsure, certain dates turned to aproximation within months. All logical thinking was out the door, as I filed my papers withing famous Vermont Centre!

One last question , before the increase in the fees, what was the waiting times for K3 and or CR-1 petitions for a approval???

Thank you!!

Truly happy!!!

New life, new adventures, and a new attitude.
