I think if you are willing to take the time and expense to attempt a visitor visa, why not? The worst they can do is say no.

Spending time and expense on attempting a visitor visa is not a problem, dealing with the rejection is overwhelming...Anyway, since it has no effect on K1 outcome/process, we would like to take the risk for once.

Thanks for your comment, Jomo's girl.

James_n_Karen,

I myself have a very similar situation.

My fiance and I have NOA1 in hand and waiting like crazy for NOA2 and the whole application process.

Meanwhile, I am self-employed, a consultant who's been doing contract work for a company in US from Indonesia. The company invited me for a meeting this July, so I am applying for the business visa.

I'm still prepping my docs; sufficient fund is not a problem - because the company will pay for my travel expenses. I'm more concern about what is the best way to show them that I will go back to my country after the visit.

After all, I'm still quite new with this business. I have one other client in Indonesia and my current work is based at home, not a fully setup business.

Anyways, I just wanted to share :)

Best of luck with the Tourist Visa and hello to everyone in this forum. We're a newbie here and we found that all the sharing and advices have been very useful to us. Thanks!

I fully hear you, DramaKingandQueen. My fiance left for the US on April 10, he was here with me for about 20 days. It was his 2nd visit. Since the day he has left, we are missing each other like crazy, although we talk over the phone (VOIP), chat and see each other on the cam (Skype) everyday. You'll never know how long it takes for the processing time between NOA1 and NOA2. That's why a trip to the US comes into play as soon as we have NOA1 in hand. By the way, we are in the midst of gathering all the required documents, and plan on sending the I-129F package off in the 2nd week of June.

I think you stand a better chance than I do for getting the visa approved to the US, you are applying for the B1 Visa and the invitation from US company does help in a way. As far as a proof of you'll return after the visit concerned, I am not sure, and I don't want to give you wrong information, but I suppose your self-registered company has showed the so-called "strong tie" to the country. Good luck!

I would say most of the VJ members are very helpful to the newbies, I have read a lot of good advice here. Very helpful, indeed!

Wishing you all the best in your K1 journey and of course, would love to see your NOA2 comes real soon!

May my God with you...

Karen
