Hello! I'm a Venezuelan wife.... just got to the USA 3 months ago... I LOVE Brazilian music (I mean, bossa nova) and I used to go to clubs (in Venezuela) where wonderful singers performed everyweek... but I haven't found one here!! I live in Baltimore, MD... any suggestions???

Obrigada!

Hi cami!

I was searching on Google and just found some bands that plays around the Baltimore area... Most of them are playing in Washington, DC...

You can check in this page each band's schedules: http://www.gigmasters.com/Brazilian/Brazil...altimore_MD.asp

Good luck!!! And let me know if you see some good band there!!!

Hi Carol!

Thanks for the tip. I checked the site you told me, but unfortunately it only shows jazz and fusion bands that include brazilian music in their repertoire. I am looking for something more like Vinicius de Moraes, Joao Gilberto, Maria Betania, even Chico Buarque or Caetano Veloso.. I mean, people playing and singing their kind of music. If you know about anything in Maryland let me know... I'll let you know too if I find out something first

Thank you and cheers! (F)

Camila

My uncle is a singer and plays guitar too and all his life he plays MPB and bossa nova... Im thinking about to 'import' him here for some shows... They are very good (Him and his wife sings also) and I was almost every wednesday there to watch them... And I miss them alot!!! :crying: See more here

Very cool, I'm still getting "used" to some of the music in Brasil  I'm a Blues Guitarist, but I'm trying my best.

Although, I think if I hear "Ela Soh Pensa em Beija, beija, beijar...e vem comigo dança, dança, dança" one more time I may lose it  God bless my Fiance and her love for Brasilian Funk.

My Fiance actually has a famous (well, that is what she told me) cousin in Brasil that plays guitar. I believe most of his music is in the style of Pantanal/Paraguay. His name is Marcelo Loureiro, don't know if any of you have ever heard of him or not.
