Shouldn't local immigration provide interpreter at AOS interview?

I was reading someone's post where he was say that he took an interpreter to his fiancee's AOS interview, and I wonder if the local immigration office should provide such service since according to the poster, he was not allowed as an interpreter (his fincee does not speak English at this point in time).

I ask this question because soon enough I will have to do the same, but I am not planning on hiring an interpreter to take him/her to the interview. Could someone clarify this? Thanks.,

Nope, because they assume that if you need an interpreter (usually its the spouse or another family member, not someone hired for the day) you will bring one.

It would be awfully hard (not even counting the expense!) to have enough interpreters to cover the multitude of languages that a district office deals with on a daily basis.
