My name change

4 posts in this topic

Hello,

I've changed my name when I became the U.S citizenship. I've changed it back since then by going to court and the judge has approved to change my name back. I changed my name on my driver license and SSN. However, I've not changed my name on passport or citizenship, yet. It will take a while if I change my citizenship. I am going to file a K1 Visa for my fiance'e, now. What name should I use? I will need my citizenship to file for K1 so I should use the name as appear on citizenship, shouldn't I. However, other information will be based on my SSN & driver license name. So is that be a problem later on? Any though would greatly appreciate. Thanks.

Use your current legal name as it appears on your SSN and driver's license. When completing forms, you will put the name from your passport and citizenship in "other names used". Include certified copies of your court-ordered name change with all applications.

I had a court-ordered name change too.
