I assume you don't have a copy of the form that the overseas medical doc gave you? If so, photocopy it and send it back with the I 693a.

If not, then unfortunately, you'll probably have to have a new medical done by a civil surgeon here. I believe some folks here have had luck getting their congressperson involved in locating the original medical documents (which should have been in the envelope you turned over at the point of entry into the US) -- but I don't think you'd have enough time now to do that. You'll definitely want to respond to the USCIS by June 11th.

I would still see about either your private doctor or a medical clinic about doing your vaccinations (as others have suggested). Chances are they'd be pretty pricey to do via the civil surgeon.

Yesterday we went to the civil surgeon to get the instruction what the immigration requested for the medical examination. Then we went to our family doctor to have physical test, PPD test and blood test, tomorrow I will know if I need to take any other shots!!! Hope that no more shots...I'm scared of needles!!!

Our civil surgeon will receive $125 for the paperwork!!! (Don't accept insurance)

Oh #######!!!

How much does the USCIS want from me??? Sigh....

If you were a good resident and filed your taxes in time - you would have received $1200 from the US Govt. $600 for you and $600 for your husband (and $300 for any kids that you may have) - So this will take only a little bite out of that money. Look at the glass as half full - they are paying for most of it with the rebate! Good Luck

I don't think we can receive $1200 cause I don't work...I guess $600 is the most to receive for us, well we'll see soon!! According to my hubby's SSN# June 20th will know it!!

So last wednesday, I did blood test, PPD skin test and took Td Shot, luckily I'm still immunized to MMR and Varicella, no need to take any extra shots. This tuesday after the long weekend, I collected my medical result and go visited to my local civil suregon. He filled in the I-693 for me and also gave me a copy.

Not too bad...my family dr. charged me $25 due to insurance cover and the civil suregon charged me $125 for paperwork only.

Yesterday my hubby helped me to mail out the RFE with signature required and online tracking, hope the USCIS resume my case and approve my GC soon!!!

We received a similar RFE in April, I believe. We asked our Senator's office to intervene and they did, but we were told that the medical was not in his file and there was no way they could try to find it. So we were resigned to redoing the medical. We called the only civil surgeon that's relatively close and fortunately, he accepted our insurance so we only had to pay the copay.

I believe it was the TB test that they wanted because my husband didn't have one with the K1 medical. I guess it's not required for that.

Just starting the journey, haven't yet filed... Until today(2/12/07)!
