hi there fellow VJyers, i need your help...US EMbassy sent me a letter requesting written letter of explanation from NBI. If somebody out there who has the same case with mine, please help me what to do. :crying: its been almost two months since my interview and still i got no visa.please help...

03/18/2009 - package delivered in Chicago Lockbox (day 1)

03/24/2009 - checked cashed by USCIS (day 7)

03/24/2009 - NOA1 for AOS & EAD notice date

03/26/2009 - received hardcopy of NOA1 for AOS and EAD (day 9)

03/26/2009 - Biometrics appointment notice date for AOS and EAD

03/30/2009 - received hardcopy of Biometrics appt. date for AOS and EAD (day 13)

04/13/2009 - Biometrics schedule for AOS and EAD (day 27)

thank God, it was so easy interview and it took us 5mins then i was approved.

08/24/2009 - got my temporary residence card.

Hi!!! Sad to hear from you this problem...Did u try to call embassy why they that written explanation? As what i knew NBI will not issue certificate if u have HIT in your name. Since you have already that NBI certificate of yours meaning you are already cleared!!!!

Would you mind telling what kind of letter they want you to secure from the NBI? This may be too personal but to some circumstances, they wanted to confirm or clarify things. Why don't you comply with it so it won't be a hindrance with the release of your visa?

Hi, While reading your posting today, I just remember what I read from the USEM Manila website about the NBI, I printed out that one before and now I'm reading it, it says, "An official letter of explanation from the NBI is required for any notation of "No criminal record", "No pending criminal case" or "With derogatory record", it didn't say however what they meant about this notation, I suggest you try to look at your NBI Copy again(personal copy) if you happen to have this notation there. Try to look at it closely, who knows, maybe they made a mistake on the notation of your NBI clearance. I hope everything will work out fine, I'm sure it will, just always pray to God. God bless
