$24 billion was for the whole of 2007, not the first quarter of this year.

Yep you are right.

$24,000,000,000 is still a lot of money. Whenever a few billion enters an economy through tourism it generates tens of thousands of jobs. So not think what $24 billion wold do.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

Rise above it all sister Diana... :D

Sometimes you have to steer the discussion with the magical ability to stay on topic.

Well that is ironical considering someone's post is about Mariah Carey..

Sorry I don't play the tangent or the reading miscomprehension game.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

That's a serious side effect that could be prevented. Imagine, if the Mexican economy were stronger in its citizenry, it would open the logical door for the citizen market to open itself up to US products made in the US, thereby injecting more funds into the US economy. Right?

America is a service based economy. We hardly manufacture anything anymore. We need immigrants who want to live here and spend here. Not people who are simply here to work and siphon money elsewhere.

Sorry I don't play the tangent or the reading miscomprehension game.

Which tangent is that?

Come to think of it. I think there's a conspiracy going on with Mexico. They want to silently invade America, and then take control. Like colonists trying to colonize other countries. They are illegals slowly taking away another country.

YOU'RE A RACIST!......prepare for the BROWN PEOPLE INVASION! ;)

What is so funny. Is $24 billion irrelevant.

There is no conspiracy about it. As the article above stated

"Remittances soared in the early part of the decade to become Mexico's largest source of foreign income after oil exports.

It is in the Mexican governments best interest to send people here.

And? Isn't the point to create spenders here and there on our "stuff"?

I also include services beyond manufacture, like... finances, trade, and multinational economics that go beyond a product based service industry. Then again, the USA is a major provider of products to plenty of parts of the world, so opening up a citizenship by prosperity, you increase the demand for said products. That is supply and demand.

That's what work-based visas are for. No one can truly control how people spend their money, however, and there is no law I am aware of that states XX% of money earned must remain in America. If I worked and lived abroad, I would probably save up money to bring back to the good ole States.

The US is now a service based economy. So your logic does not add up. Illegal Immigrants are not going to be using E*trade or buying healthcare stock, for example.

There is also the fact the illegal immigrants are costing the united states billions every year

Here are some facts on what illegal immigrants are taking from American taxpayers..

  • $12,000,000,000 annual cost to America to educate the kids of illegal aliens.
  • another $17,000,000,000 to pay for educating the anchor babies of illegal aliens.
  • 30% of FEDERAL PRISONERS are not US citizens.
  • American taxpayers spend $3,300,000 every day to house non-us citizen prisoners.

$400,000,000,000 estimated 10 year cost

Low skilled households:

  • Pay $9,689 in taxes
  • Receive $32,138 in benefits.

You argue against illegals based on they being HERE- fine. I argue against illegals based on their NOT NEEDING to be here. Get it?

Those drain numbers, then, simply don't NEED to be there under my argument. Do they? Simple logic.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.
