AOS/EAD/AP

Err. I thought I just made this post but now it's not anywhere to be found. o_O

So, I filed my K-1 about a month and a half now and am just playing the waiting game for NOA2. While doing so I've been occasionally reading up on what the next few steps are and things.

One thing I'm curious about is the whole EAD/AP thing once we file for the AOS. Will any of this process enable my fiancee to obtain a legal learners permit and subsequent drivers liscence, or can I expect to play taxi-driver until she gets a green card?

Alternatively, would it be at all helpful for her to try and obtain a legal British drivers liscence before coming here and marrying me?

The British Dl will be helpful. I would get it.

Most states wont give you a DL until you get work authoriztion (EAD), which can be quite a while. You can get one on the visa but it is only good for the 90 days until the visa expires.

Call your local DL office and ask how long she can drive on the British liscense. I think it is quite a while.

If she had not driven in the UK before it is not a good idea for her to learn how to drive in UK and then have to un-learn everything so she can learn how to do it here...

She would be best to wait and get the drivers manual from your local DMV once she is here and then once she has her EAD she will be ready to take the written test then start learning to drive....

Each state has different regulations.some will allow you to drive for 90 days on a foreign license others for 12 months.
