Xoom money transfer

I have been using Xoom, and up until last month the money was in my fiancées hand in 30 minutes. the last month it took 120 days. i have changed nothing. this month they are also saying it will take a minimum of 5 days. meanwhile they have deducted the money from my account and holding onto it. they blame the Federal reserve. i am blaming them. that they are holding up all transactions and collecting interest on the money.

so beware to anyone thinking of using xoom for fast money transfers. i am done with them, so if any knows a good company please let me know

thanks

If you are using the value service fee Xoom is very slow. I only used this service once because of the slowness. I have never had any problems with the standard service fee including this month.

RemitHome is very reliable with a $10 fee per transaction. I use them for larger transactions.

I go Western Union.

Most are open 24 hours a day in Dallas Texas.

Cost for me is $12 per transaction.

Mom and my fiance' uses Xoom coz of its cheaper fees. Charging from debit/credit and checking account has a time difference in processing, likewise with Value/Standard service fee. So far, haven't experienced that long wait of 120 days. You may wish to check on the fees with Western Union, learned that they lowered the fees to compete with xoom.

Best regards! :)

Ricky opened a debit card account in his area and gave me the card the last time he was here. So that is what we are using and I could withdraw in any ATM with visa card sign. It is the most cost effective for us.

We are using Western Union for 2 years already because it is fast, accessible and yes they lowered their price already

but now my husband's plan is to send his ATM card to me so that i'll just withdraw money from it and will save much

for him in sending money :D (the last time we withdraw money in his ATM only cost us P7.00 per transaction, i just don't

know how much now).

I always used xoom to send money to my sister and mom but so far I've never have any problem with them. I used my credit card or paypal. I guess xoom is cheaper than western union. I don't see the big difference on processing time using my credit card. But I've never used my debit card or checking account when I send money or buy some stuff online. It's safer to used your credit card.

hello,

My fiance' and I have been using xoom for the past 8 months and we hadn't had any major problems.

we had one but it only takes 2.5 days before I got the money.

and until now we are still using xoom and right after he sent it, i could get it right away in cebuana lhuiller, ( as long as it has direct access) so as in BDO.

The problem with Xoom is when you hit their clearing time, thats usually the problem when you're money is getting stranded wherever.

I've used XOOM at least 50 times and maybe 2 times have had to wait more than 1 day (5 days only twice from what I can remember). Usually, the money is ready in 20-30 minutes.

If you use Paypal or your credit card as your method of payment, it will always be deducted within 30 minutes.

western union sometimes is way expensive... if you want a fixed rate.. try MONEYGRAM! in minutes they will have ur money at once! and its just 10 dollars!!! we used to use WESTERN but it gets expensive after a while... you can just go to any Banco De ORO to get ur money in all SM's for moneygram... its so easy! and if something is wrong with the release of the money, i just call my hubby and hubby calls MONEYGRAM in the US and for just 5 minutes, u can go back to the bank and get ur money! that simple... ciao...

hi all,

Relyn has had a credit union check card from my bank with visa logo for almost two years, same as dbears is doing. Its the simplest way and its very cheap. sometimes visa corp charges me $1 but most of the time the fee is 1% of withdrawal.

We also have done xoom, ikobo, and lbc. Then we went with Wells Fargo international remittance. She got a card and was able to withdraw at any atm but when i deposit the money into the Wells Fargo account they charge $5. I think that Wells Fargo has changed that to be free possibly but we still use the credit union.

When i had a friend going to the philippines I sent a China Airlines mastercard with her to give to Relyn and I was able to get it in Relyns name. The bank cards are different but with credit cards you can get it in your "baby's" name. That mastercard charges 3% but it is also building our air miles since I fly on China Airlines because it is the cheapest by far.
