More than likely you will just transfer in Guam and then you will go through the POE in Hawaii. Guam defers inspection to Hawaii.

Dear VJ members, does anyone who will be leaving on Apr. 28 via Continental airlines? POE is Guam..then Hawaii, Houston and final distaination Orlando Florida.

Can anyone share their experiences? thank you.

I have the same travel itenirary when i fly here in Houston last september,we left manila 10 at nite with continental airlines then you will give your documents in Guam airport if your K1 you will give that document sent to you by the embassy and your I-94 be sure to fill it out in the plane then you will be ask simple questions, then transfer to another plane (continental) to hawaii there will be a thoroug inspection of your baggages in hawaii then again another continental plane. you have to be quick when you reach houston airport because its kinda big and confusing so ask airport personnel so you wont miss your plane to florida. continental is a nice choice of airline my travel went smooth and on time. Your Port of Entry is Guam.

have a safe travel

Thanks Rheiys for the info it surely will help. do i need to hand carry the xray film? or can i put it in my check in baggage? coz im afraid to forget it in the plane if im going to hand carry it.

how about the check in baggages, do i need to check in them personally in every time i transfer to the other plane? thus all the port inspects check in and hand carry baggages? sorry, i have many questions...thank you so much..

Yes this is very helpful info.

Amy will fly on Continental May 16, and she has worries about all of the transfers.

Like twinkle30, Amy wants to know if she will have to go to baggage claim, then re-check her bags at each stop. Obviously, she will need to get her bags at Hawaii for inspection.

Also, how much time is enough at Hawaii? Continental flight 2 from Guam to Houston, via Hawaii, only stops for 75 minutes. Should she take flight 2 to Hawaii, but take the next flight to Houston?

Thanks so much. Any additional info will help calm Amy's nerves.

Dave

i flew from guam to hawaii in june 2006...the airline was very fast in getting the bags off the plane and on the baggage lane...you go directly from the plane to the baggage pick up...they give you a free cart...pick up your bags and head right for the customs area...here they check your papers and send you to the baggage inspection station...they will then take your bags to your next plane...i had a short time between flights and was very impressed with the service there...very unlike most US airports...they had there act together...hope this helps!
