Hi everyone,

Anyone knows if I still have to take a driving test even though I already have a German and Philippine drivers license? I'm almost ready to take the written exam. I'm from Miami Florida.

Any thoughts is highly appreciated. Thank you and God bless...

Amy

hi im not from fl but some states would no longer let you have a driving test (just written test nalang)... my friend frm Michigan since she has a DL from phil, she got lucky and no longer have to take the driving test (just written). and got her license thru the mail after applying it at the DMV... on the other hand my uncle has a DL from phil, but they still let him took the test in NY so i guess its best to call the DMV Fl for more info. or take the written exam and who knows they will let u drive right away lol... good luck and God bless!!!

Hi Amy,

I am also from Florida and in the process of obtaining my DL. I've never had a DL before ( I didn't drive before coming here ). I had to take a Drug and Alcohol Course and Driver's License Prep Course. . took and exam. . all online then they sent me a certificate of completion. I have to submit that ceritification to DMV and take a written exam for my learner's permit then take the actual driving test to get my license.

A friend of mine from Williston, FL also had a license from the Philippines and she only had to take the written exam. You probably just need to take the written exam like her because you already have a DL from the Philippines and Germany.

Do visit your nearest DMV office for inquiry.

Hope this helps.

I dont know if you will need to with your licences, but I had to take the full test, driving as well, even though I have been licensed for almost 30 years, lol ..

it wasn't too bad, just a short drive in fact, and mostly in the parking lot, but nerve wracking before hand all the same.

They didnt keep my Australian license though (which I was prepared to fight about)
