Hey guys...on the second page of the sponsors contract where it says " I _____________________ certify under the penalty of perjury under the laws of the United States...."

Does the sponsors name have to be handwritten here or is it o.k. if the name is typed in an the signature handwritten?

I think I remember someone saying that it has to be handwritten but I wanted to check so I could tell hubby.

Thanks

Here's a sample form for you: http://www.visajourney.com/examples/INS-Form-I-864.pdf. In there you will see that the name of the sponsor was typewritten.

It says on the I-864pdf instruction page to print your name...so I would hand print it not typewrite it in...here is the excerpt:

Read the contract carefully, print your name, and then signand date the form. If you do not print your name on line 30and sign and date the form on line 31, the intendingimmigrant you are sponsoring cannot be issued a visa orbe granted adjustment of status.

Hi again,

Thanks I will tell him to handwrite it!

I am going the CR1 route, it might take a bit longer but it's better to just get everything over with one time.

If you are going to switch let me know. I should be off the ground running in a couple weeks.

Never heard of that one before...

But anyway, we did typewrite the name on #30 and then on #31, that's where my husband signed. We didn't have any problem with it.
