how do we update the name change to uscis?

when we file these papers for the change of status should we put her name that she used to come here on our k1 visa papers are should we use her new last name. i know we cant update her social till after uscis is updated but how do i update uscis in the change of status papers or is there another paper we have to do for the name change ????

Just file for AOS under the new married name. There are places that ask for other names used and there you can put the madien name. Changing the name on the greencard afterwards costs money.

If you have a Social Security card already, you can just bring the marriage certificate to the SS office and have them change the name.

we tried to change her social but they told us we could not change her last name till will update uscis. we dont have a green card or anythign like that yet. we just got married. she just got her a month ago on a k1 visa

The SS office won't change your card if you have less than 76 days left on the I-94. Just go back to the office to have the name changed after you get your EAD. Fill in all your AOS paperwork with her new married name.

You fill out the forms in the Name that your wife will be using from now on.
