(a) you don't need to send your naturalization certificate(photocopy) for I864. Also, if you are going to show your employment as proof and sponsoring only one person. You could use I864EZ form instead of I864.

(B) I assume "Police Certificate – Passport City (Lucknow, UP) / Original" this is from regional passport office.

© Photos should be US passport size 2x2.

Good luck...cheers!

Do you have to send the original marriage certificate? Or is just a copy OK? Does it need to be notarized?

Do the passport copies need to be notarized too? Or you just did this to be double sure?

Marriage certificate must be original or certified copy. Photo copies and notarized copies will not be accepted. Passport copies do not have to be notarized.

Hello mgk,

Yes, Regional Office is Lucknow! I have already filled out the I-864 but you are absolutely right, I could have used the I-864EZ. I really do not want to go back and fill any more forms. This whole process is enough agony and me and my wife are at the EDGE so to speak! I just hope we can get an interview date in Mid June or so otherwise if it goes into July, I will miss my wife's b-day and 1st wedding anninversary! That will be a DOG of a summer :(

*Do you think mid June is possibility or it will drag out to July!!!

Cheers to ALL - Panki

Another quick Q: The PDF file that lists the documents you need to submit with the DS-230 (here) says

The applicant and each family member who will accompany the applicant to the United States will need to submit the following original documents or certified copies of the documents listed in this section from an appropriate authority (the issuing entity). In addition to sending the original documents or certified copies of the documents to the NVC, the applicant and each accompanying family member must submit a photocopy of the original documents or certified copies of the documents.

It sounds like they are asking for originals AND photocopies of all documents, though I haven't seen anyone mention this before here nor on the James's Shortcuts. Can anyone confirm or disprove? Thanks :)

Photocopies of original documents are not required but they are recommended.
