I just want a make sure of this. When traveling out of the Philippines for the first time with her K1 Visa to the USA, does my Fiance need a round trip ticket? Or can she just have a one way ticket. A co worker of mine who was originally from a different country said that the US may not allow entry unless she has a return ticket??? I dont think thats correct, but just double checking

Why? K-1 is an immigrant intent visa, it is expected for them to enter the USA marry, adjust status and remain in the USA. Why would a return ticket be needed?

We used a one way with our K-1, the POE officer welcomed my then fiancee to the USA.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

Maybe that applies to those who want to travel as a tourist? Most of us here used one-way ticket with no problem at all...

some people found a round trip ticket to be cheaper, but there's no reason to purchase a return ticket if you don't want to.

I agree your chances are better to get into the US with a roud trip ticket when using a B1 or B2 tourist visa.

But why would you want a round trip ticket with a K1 visa? A K3 is multiple entry, but not a K1.

You're filing a marriage-only Visa, no need for the government to be suspicious of your actions.

If you were filing for a tourists Visa, that would be a different story.

Just get a one-way ticket. Travelocity and Expedia have good prices for one-way tickets from Manila.
