We went to SS office today but then, the lady ask for my BC....i have to comeback tomorrow though. I showed her my passport, 1-94 and visa...but, well, be there tomorrow and bring what she asked of me. In Social Security Website, BC is not needed right?

* April 28,2008- Change my name to my married name SOCIAL SECURITY OFFICE

* May 05, 2008- Rcvd my SSN with my married name on it

* May 22,2008- Got 2 Credit Card Accounts approval

* May 23-28,2008- Visit Alabama,Mississippi and Louisiana

* June 09,2008 - NOA arrived (PROBLEM:My first name spelled incorrectly)

I wonder why they asked BC from you...I only brought my passport and marriage certificate.

I am not 100% sure, but I think the BC is needed for the SSN.

Just courious. How long did it take you to receive the visa in the mail after your interview?

BC is really needed in applying for SSN. I had to present an original copy, I-94 and passport when I applied for a number.

Just courious. How long did it take you to receive the visa in the mail after your interview?

My interview was march 06...that is a thursday then, i got my VISA on the Tuesday morning. :) I live down south of the Philippines. So, its pretty early. I see in my visa that it was issued March 07. So, GOODLUCK.

they asked for my BC too! i told them i didnt bring it with me since it wasnt required from their website. they said it was necessary to check on my DoB. so i had to go back the next day (yesterday) and finally applied for one. i was advised that i'd be getting my card in the mail within 2 weeks.

lesson learned, just to save on the extra trip, might as well bring your BC, Passport and your immigration papers with you when you go visit your friendly local SSA office ;)

Aug 08-PREGNANT! Jan 09 -UPDATE! It's A BOY!

MAy 17 09 - Baby James Anthony born!!

I-129f was approved in 131 days from filing date.

Iinterview took 197 days from I-129F filing date.
