Hi Joey,

Welcome to VJ... I am only able to answer some of your questions as I am still in the middle of this process.

1. You, as beneficiary, will only need to show your birth certificate at the interview stage. According to the reply from the consulate here, the translated copy of the birth certificate does not need to be certified or authenticated as long as your translation is from an official translator. You just need to bring the original birth certificate, the translated copy and some photocopies of both when you go for the interview and the CO will certify them for you.

2. When my fiance submitted the K1 petition way back in November, we did not have any certified copies of our documents. Everything was photocopied except the forms and the photos.

3. Not sure about this as I am still here waiting for my interview date, though I will also be moving to North Carolina :)

That's all I can help you with for now... I hope someone else is able to shed some light on your Q3. All the best on your journey.

Cheers :star:

Hi Joey,

I am from the Raleigh North Carolina area. I am sure you can get a job in a private daycare or work as a nanny either in your home or in a child's home. My wife is working as a nanny and making pretty good $$ watching 2 kids under 3 years old. I doubt you would be able to work in the public school system but you might want to check with www.dpi.state.nc.us
