Hi All,

Since my fiance is pregnant, we were able to postpone any required vaccinations until after getting to the USA.

We are planing our wedding for about 20 days after arrival in USA with the K1 Visa. Normally, we would want to file for AOS very shortly after the wedding, as soon as we have the marriage certificate in hand - maybe 2 weeks after wedding.

However, our baby is not due until September. So the earliest that she could safely have the vaccines would be quite some time after that, allowing for nursing time. We don't want to wait that long to file for AOS, but since the Vaccination Supplement form is something that is submitted with the AOS filing, we obviously would not be able to have that completed as she would not have yet been able to complete all required vaccination shots.

Do we have to wait to file AOS?

Or can AOS be filed WITHOUT the Vaccination Supplement form and then we provide that form at the AOS interview (or mail it in if completed before the AOS interview is scheduled)?

Or do we file for AOS WITH the Vaccination Supplement form, even though it will show that not all required vaccinations are completed and then provide additional updates (e.g. an updated, revised Vaccination Supplement Form) when those required vaccinations are complete?

Any experience or advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Warm Regards,

Samby

I'm sure during her appearance in St. Luke for her medical exam., the physician would make a note on her medical record that she's pregnant and would not be able to get a vaccination and would have it instead here in the US once she's already giving birth. You will just have to submit her medical record from her visa for her AOS....this is what my friend did and she was approved and got her GC last January.

I'd be cautious, I think it depends a lot on which officer happens to open and review your file. We submitted my wife's vaccination page and medical from her K3 and got RFE'd for a whole new medical with a civil surgeon, the RFE said if we didn't respond with the requested evidence within 90 days our case would be rejected. The aos and visa require different medical forms so they can RFE you for the other if they want to, I'd wait to be on the safe side.

I had this very same problem.

I initially assumed I'd wait until after I had the baby, so I did. I then went in January to have the vaccinations while still breastfeeding, but was told I couldn't have them.

I phoned USCIS as to what to do, since I plan to breastfeed for a year, and they said that was fine, the civil surgeon just needed to put that I couldn't have the vaccination.

I have filed and no RFE yet!!

I would go ahead and file, I am kicking myself I didn't file earlier.

My friend in Illinois is 6 mos. pregnant right now and she just applied for AOS. When she had her medical done in the Philippines, she was able to have the vaccines except for TD shots which is not available there. When she came here, she didn't have the missing shots right away (she didn't know it was really that necessary) and got pregnant during her first month here. Despite missing some required shots, she still went ahead to a civil surgeon and had whatever records she got transferred into I-693a. So far, no problem with her current AOS application.
