Hi have a question about the AOS process. When my then fiance-now wife first came last month on a k1 visa, she, as instructed, had to bring the envelope(that was mailed to her house with the visa) from the embassy with all the interview info in it(medical report, criminal background, birth certificate, my finance support info). The officer at POE took it and opened it, and said he would send it to USCIS. Now that we are filing the I485, the instruction sheet says that we have to attatch this information again to the I485. Why do we have to include all of that again if the officer at the POE sent the stuff in the envelope to USCIS already, shouldnt it already be in their system now? Should I request that paperwork back and then attatch it to the 485? That would kinda defeat the purpose in my opinion but it just seems kinda weird that if the POE officer sent it to them that we would have to gather that info all over again and re-send it to them less than 5 weeks later. Please help.

I don't really think they require a medican report or a criminal record for AOS filing (just got married; fling for AOS next week.) I, for example, is missing some vaccination shots, so I have to do it asap and to send the vaccination supplement along with my application, but not the whole medical report. It's all inside the envelope, I wouldn't worry about it. I think you may have looked up a wrong guide or something. As for financial info such as the Affidavit of Support I-186, it's just a different form now; it's more detailed and asks for three years of tax info vs. one year which was asked for I-134 you'd filed for your fiance's interview. Good luck :) !!

you cant request those documents back, uscis wont give it out!

i never really thought about that, i just followed the guides on here and what i was told in the german thread.

as for the I485 you need to submit for example the I693a (vaccination supplement) but not the whole medical report (you dont have that anyways) if your wifes medical was within the past 12 months. some people have just submitted the ds3025 (vaccination sheet, shouldve gotten a copy of it after the medical) and didnt got a rfe some people did get one for not submitting the supplement.

i recommend to get the I693a so youre on the safe side.

call dr l. e. arnold in austin tx 512-444-3131 (if you get the machine leave a message, theyll get back to you). she transfers all the vaccins form the ds3025 to the required I693a for just $20.

as for any additional documents that need to be submitted with the aos package, take a look at the guides here and take every form (I485,I131,I765) as a single file. means submit every supporting document with the according form even though means you have doubles of docs or pics...

as for the affidavit of support you need to fill out a new form (this time I864) and send more supporting docs than for the I134 which was needed for the interview to get your wifes k1 visa.

if you have more questions tell your wife to come in the german thread to get more specific help!!

The instruction sheet says something like "if not already submitted". Don't worry about it, whatever you handed over at POE gets forwarded onto USCIS
