Bonehead move of the century - I misplaced all of the proof of my most recent trip to Colombia to visit my fiance. I have a copy of the airline e-ticket, but that's not proof I actually went. But coupled with the stamp in my passport, will that be sufficient proof of my visit? [second bonehead move - I sent my passport to the State Dept. to be renewed without making a copy, but they will send the old one back, right?]

yes they send back ur old passport with holes punched in it...........e ticket copy..........itinerary along with ur enter and exit stamp in ur passport good.........also do u have any receipts for hotels or anything when u where there? purchases on credit cards?..........or purchase of sims card for ur phone to work there?

we only have the passport copies showing dates of entry and exit as well as ticket itinerary.......and two hotel receipts.........

The passport stamps would be excellent evidence of subject travel dates. As far as the old passport being returned: Maybe.

If you did not request they return it, they probably won't. Perhaps you can make contact with DOS and request they return the old one? Definitely worth a try in my opinion.

As an aside, do you have credit card statements showing charges from there or hotel receipts in your name?

Perhaps DOS is now routinely sending the old passport back without request. A few years ago, you needed to specifically request they do so.

We havent kept any hotel receipts, restaurants, atms, airport terminal fee, and no telephone statements. The only evidence we submitted was a copy of my fiance's passport stamps, his milage on NW Air and pictures and so far everything is going smoothly....we wait for Manila!!
