Wife need to change name on passport?

Hi was just wondering if anyone knows if my wife in the Philippines needs to change her passport name to her married name now before her interview? She has a passport with her single name which is good until 2010? I have heard that she doesn't need to but wouldn't she need her passport with her married name while coming into USA?

I went to the DFA to have my passport amended to my married name. Only took me like 2 hrs to do that. my passport also expires on 2010.

I don't think it is necessary but it isn't a bad idea, especially if she is still in the Philippines. We changed Claudeth's here in L.A. and it was a lot of hassle.

I've changed mine to my married name by simply renewing my passport even if its good until 2009

actually you dont need to change it but if she fill out on your application for Ir/Cr1 using her married name so she must renew it or amend her passport

yours was simple We went through all sorts of hassles at the consulate in L.A. to get her a new passport in her married name
