CALLING ON THE VETS...... From DS-156 (the one you fill out on-line)...How many pages you suppose to print out...one or two? My friend said when she went to her interview last week she only had 2 pages, but the told her it should have been 3. I don't have my paperwork infront of me so I can't help her. Any ideas?

3 pages.............https://evisaforms.state.gov/ds156_complete.asp?pdf=DS156_Complete.pdf

JG - I was posting the same time you were so I didn't see yours until after mine went up. Now I am confused - where is page 3?

Copy and past my link into your browser. It takes me to the exact same place as you went. Click on "continue" on that form. You will see a page 3 for "official use". It's there. You just didn't go far enough.

A-HA. Thanks!

If those visa specialists get paid so well, they should be doing a better job!!!!

They do not work at the Embassies...only in DC. Those are consular officers. Visa Specialists do not approve or disapprove visas. Their jobs are interesting. Two of my friends work over there.

Consular Officers make more money because they live in Gov'ment housing for free  Still mad about passing up a job in Kingston last summer

Good morning yardies!!

Do u think having a fiance/spouse/ friend from JA would affect consideration for a job like this. I remember when I was being interviewed for adjudications officer w/ the Texas Service Center, they asked all these questions for the security clearance.. what foreign trips have u taken? what did u do? who did u meet? do u keep in contact? would u have any reason to use immigration to assist friends and family members? blah blah blah..

it was crazy...They wanted the names and contact information of any foreign friend or relative that I had..thank goodness I don't have many cuz I would have said FORGET THIS!!!!!!!!!

Yes, the security clearance process is no joke. It also depends on your job title. They want to know EVERYTHING that happened to your life in the last 7-10 years. Just be honest...that's all. I had to report a married a "foreign national". Didn't want to jeoardize my clearance. We still had caught up in a FBI security check during the AOS process

Exactly.. cuz I work for Social Security now and we did have a small clearance process, nothing as lengthy as immigration. FBI agent came to my job and evrything..Girl, we have 3 supervisors in my office.. this particular day, mine was not there. So they asked another sup questions..They asked her did she know about my visits out of the country. She told them she knew of one (jamaica) becuz a couple of ladies from the office went. He gonna say, "yes, she did put that down here, along w/ a trip to the Bahamas in October!!!!!!!!!!!!!" What the heck!!!!! How he just gonna be offering information like that. He asked her a question and she answered, end of story. I don't give people at my job my personal business like that, hell she couldn't even tell him how many kids I have and I have been here 5 YEARS! I couldn' t believe he (a SECURITY officer) was so open w/ personal info.. I should have reported his RASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm lost dancehall. Why were they checking on you with the Supervisor. Is that for a new job or the imigration process?

Hey girl.. I was applying for a job w/ immigration as an adjudications officer. I haven't done ANYTHING w/ the visa process..."yet"(???) Heehee

I guess they want to make sure I wouldn't start a smuggling ring or something, just giving out visas to all my VJ friends .. LOL

OH. I got it. thanks for clarification. I was getting ready to say dem gonna send people i dis place fi check stuff. I would have freaked out.

I know right.. u would be like, "aren't my income tax returns enough!!" sorry I scared u.. :star:

What do you think are some names of songs or artist with good wedding songs?

I'm into a little bit of all type of songs: country, R&B, etc. I like these: At last (Etta James ) and a few country songs like You Had Me From Hello (Kenny Chesney). When I told Dwayne what I was thinking and played a couple over the phone he paused a very very long time and said is that what you want babe?

I know he wants to hear something romantic with a raggae flair but I don't know any for a wedding.

Intimacy, like charity, begins at home. If we cannot be intimate with ourselves, we have no way to bring to intimacy with another person.

Intimacy with ourselves takes time. We need time for rest, time for walks, time for quiet, and time to tune into to ourselves. We cannot completely fill up our lives with activities and become intimate with ourselves. Nor can we just sit quietly indefinitely and become intimate with ourselves. We have to have the time and energy to be our lives and to do our live in order to establish and intimate relationship with ourselves.

Surprisingly, as we become intimate with ourselves, we discover our connection with others

Ok I am in Love with Jack Johnson at the moment. For all the moms .. he did the soundtrack for the curios george movie. Well he has a new album.. "Sleep through the static" and there is a a song called "Angel" and it is so nice. Short too! I am thinking about it because Louis says he can't dance, so it is short and sweet.

I am very much into reggae of any kind and there are so many songs.. but I keep coming back to Jack! :-) He was a pro surfur dude turned songwriter. Some of his songs have a reggae beat.

I really like "There's no Way" by Alabama and "Still the One" by Shania Twain for wedding songs.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

Oh man! i have so many songs i can't even tell you. I'm surprised he didnt like the country songs. so many Jamaicans I know like country music, sounds weird but true. At my wdedding, a couple of folks made CD's for us as the background music and alot of the songs were country. They were really nice songs. Country music has really great lyrics. As when you have a country love song they can be very special.

I'll have to look at them when I get home and send you a list. i listen to just about everything, so if yu want a variety I have it.

You know I thought the same thing. I thought Jamaican's love country but each song I played he was real quiet. He like R&B slow songs and Jamaican. Thanks for offering to send me that list Marlita!
