Hopefully they have done away with the trailor they make you wait in! Gross! Otherwise - they were very nice to us at the interview and right on time.

Yeah, there is no trailer. We went in through security and was directed to the waiting room to wait til our name was called.

Yeah, there is no trailer. We went in through security and was directed to the waiting room to wait til our name was called.

Yeah. The security guy met us at the door and checked our interview notice. He didn't even ask to see our ID's. We went through the metal detector and got all our stuff scanned through that machine. Then we had to go down the hall, make a left and walk straight to the waiting area. We waited there until our name was called. I was expecting to be directed to a trailer from what I read here as we were 20 minutes early, but we were directed straight to the waiting area.

On a side note, at our interview we were told we need a joint sponsor and we're not sure how to count her household size. If you can help it would be greatly appreciated. She is married but they have been separated for over 4 years (living in different states). For the I-864 it says to put 1 for spouse (and the instructions say to include spouse even if you don't live with them). As she isn't financially responsible for him and she filed her taxes 'married but filing separately" does she have to count him? We don't want to risk a denial because she filled the form in wrong.

Do take whatever is mentioned on the bio-metrics appointment letter...Also, taking your marriage certificate will help if your spouse has a different name than the one on the ID...

They don't allow visitors inside except for the applicant but there is a waiting hall and she can periodically pop-in to make sure everything is going well..

I got the following email tonight.

Application Type: I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

Current Status: Notice mailed welcoming the new permanent resident.

On May 28, 2008, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Your new permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days following this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later. If you move before you get your new card call customer service. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. Just follow the link below to register.

Most approvals emails so far state that they approved the application and will mail the card within 30 days..What's up with this new registration or ADIT processing ?

Is this a local process at the USCIS office in Tampa?

Congrats on the approval!!!

The ADIT processing appears on everyones welcome notice. I think its means fingerprinting (i'm sure someone else can clarify if i'm wrong). Since you've already done you're biometrics it isn't necessary again. From what i've seen on here, its a standard email and i haven't seen anyone else (me included) have to do the ADIT processing after approval.

My wife's AOS will be handled in the Tampa Office. We mailed our packet on the 13th of May and she is scheduled for Biometrics on June 12th.

I was surprised to find out where the USCIS office is, it is about a 5 minute drive from where we live!

I was surprised to find out where the USCIS office is, it is about a 5 minute drive from where we live!

The ASC office(in Brandon) is different than the actual office(on Cypress Street) that processes AOS applications.

Hey guys,

Just one quick question. I finally received my AP and EAD this Wednesday after more than 4 and a half months. My case is still at the NBC.

Since my work requires me to travel overseas for long periods of time, I called the USCIS and asked them if my file was already sent back to the Tampa office.

All that to say, she told me i shouldn't expect to get an interview notice for at least a couple of months since they are now processing September filers.

Are these processing dates reliable? I know that there is no way to find out exactly when my interview will be but at least a little idea wouldn't hurt.

As per your experiences, did you have to wait months from receiving AED/AP to the interview?
