Hello Everyone -

Please take note of the increase in medical examination fees...

INCREASE IN MEDICAL EXAMINATION FEES

The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has recently made significant changes to the vaccination requirements for all immigrant visa applicants. Accordingly, eight new vaccinations have been added to the current list. Not all of these vaccines are currently available in the Philippines.

Beginning March 1, 2008, St. Luke’s Medical Center Extension Clinic (SLMCEC), the Embassy’s accredited medical facility, will increase the medical examination fee by US$37.65 to cover the costs of administering the currently available new vaccinations. The new medical exam fees will be $182.65 for adults and $154.65 for applicants 14 years of age or younger.

Further price increases are anticipated in the coming months as the remaining vaccines become available in the Philippines.

St. Luke’s Extension Clinic does not accept dollar payments. The fees must be paid in Philippine pesos at the prevailing exchange rate.

Thanks for this info, I just read it today. So bad I am going to have my medical exam in March so I will have to pay the US$37.65 increase. Tsk!Tsk! Anyway, I don't want to stress myself too much about it. It's part of what needs to be done to be with my love... :)
