Let's see....

Check with visa application $455

Medical - varies but around $100

Actual Visa - $131 (each child with a K-2 costs an additional $131)

FedEx to get visa to you - varies but around $15

But then you have the cost of getting the packet 3 & 4 information together (birth certificate, police report, certification of divorce or annulment, etc.) plus the cost of getting these officially translated, if necessary, and sent to the embassy. You can probably bet on another couple of hundred dollars when all this is done. Then there is the cost of travel to the embassy for the interview (you've got to be there).

Ahh but it then gets better, you've got to file an AOS once you're here and right after you're married, and that's another $1000. Then there are more costs for vaccinations, exams, etc. Needless to say this process is not for the faint of heart - but the ability to sacrifice being apart from your SO, and sacrifice the money is absolutely rewarded by being able to spend the rest of your life with the one person in this world that it makes sense for you to be with. There may be other costs particular to where the foriegn fiancee lives, so anyone... please pick up what I left out. Good Luck to you!

And So It Begins......

Send her $500 for all the expenses post no2a where your at. The actual is less but there are other fees like travel to getting all these things and incidentials. Better be safe than sorry, plus you dont want anything holding up the process like she didn't have enough money to pay for things. You wait this long and money should not be an issue to form any problems.
