Hello everyone!

I have been reading threads/posts from people here regarding K1 Visa and found out that most of the applicants who applied in July 2007 and some are later than that and already have an interview date at the embassy or atleast some of them got their papers at the NVC already?! My fiance' hired a lawyer to work on our papers since he is a real busy man. Our petition got at the USCIS on July 19th, 2007 and received a receipt on July 26th and case is still pending in 7 months. Although Im aware of USCIS advisory on processing times but I think 7 months to be pending is just too much :-((((. Am I alone waiting this long? Is anybody out there has been waiting this long too?

Thank you for anyone who shares their timelines!!!

Since its been over 6 months contact your loacal congress person and they will call the service center for you and find out what the status is. I know someone that had the same issue and the congress person called the service center and found the case was left on someones desk.

I just looked at the timelines search for Cali for July and there are 158 applications and 20 still don't have their NOA2. I would definitly call my congressman to inquire about the case since most of the July filers have gotten their NOA2

We've been waiting a smidge longer. Receipt date of 7/13/07. I have already contacted my congressman (in december). I've been told it's in "name checks", "security checks", "extended review". I believe they all mean the same thing. Do you or your fiance have a common name?

I've been told that can hold things up. Neither of us have any type of criminal past so no idea what the holdup is.

I've also found that the timelines aren't all that accurate. If you individually look at each person's timeline there are many who forgot to fill in their NOA2 date but DO have interview dates already and there are many who haven't been on VJ since last summer or early fall so I doubt they're updated. I think the number of us still waiting is much smaller than the data suggests. It SUCKS!!

However on a positive note, up until seeing your post I thought we were the ONLY ones left. I'm sure there's still a bunch that aren't on VJ waiting too.

I'd be curious to know what you find out if you do contact your congressman. And could let you know what we find out. This tuesday is the date we were told to let him know if we hadn't received an answer to our petition so he could contact uscis again.

3/5/11 sent LOC paperwork

3/9/11 date of NOA

?/?/?? biometrics appointment

I got my NOA1 dated 6/9/07 and I'm still waiting on VSC. I've tried my congressperson- who insists that it takes a year to get an NOA2, I asked my senator for help but she insists that it takes 6-8 weeks to get an answer from USCIS even though my congressperson gets a call back in under two days, filing an inquiry once I was outside of processing dates, and nothing seems to have helped speed anything along. At all.

You can try these things, some people do get real results. Some people don't.

Best of luck.

I have my fiance' called USCIS and nobody answers him except the machine. I just got him the toll number provided at the websit though. Anybody here knows what number to dial to be able to speak with people from the USCIS? Your help would be soooo appreciated! Thanks!

I got an email from our lawyer yesterday and he has sent us a copy of the visa approval at the USCIS. Finally we are moving one step forward to the process. One thing I have noticed is that USCIS is not updated or reliable on checking your case status online because mine still appears to be pending. Thanks for the people who have shared their experiences to me and for those who adviced.

Same with me. I have been waiting for almost 7 months and nothing since NOA1. My fiance got an appointment through infopass and will talk to an immigration officer tomorrow. Well, we made a mistake on my SSN, so he has to talk an officer directly because they cannot do anything on the phone. Well, he was told by a guy on the phone to get an appointment through infopass and try to solve a problem directly with a representative because they are so sick of receiving phone calls and cannot do anyting on the phone. Well, ummm, I have no idea what the local representative or congressman can do, but once we do not get anything, we are suggested to get a lawyer.

you are not alone... i received my NOA1 June 8 i think the date was to tired to think off the top of my head, but i just heard from them on March 5 that they are finally moving along with my case and now it could take up to May 1 until I get my approval, but don't feel bad it says you got your NOA2 already and i have no received that yet so you are a step ahead of me. we just have to be patient and keep yourself busy and the time will pass by fast :) best of luck to you and pray that we both hear something soon!!!!!
