Why Democrats must choose Obama

Obama has held an elected office for 4 years longer than Hillary.

I suppose the problem is that his record in elected office is a little underwhelming.

I dunno if this is in response to my comment or not, so if it is..yeah, you're right as far as technicalities go.

But much of her life has been spent in politics, and there's no discounting the experience she has just from that. For that not to count as experience seems short sighted to me.

Not to start a poop fling, but living her life as a first lady certainly does give her more in terms of experience.

She's 60, he's 44. She had 8 years in the WH, as a FL, meeting hundreds of leaders & travelling the globe.

I just can't count first lady experience as the same as political experience. She tried to make it more than the baby-kissing arm of the executive branch, which I respect her for, but that didn't work out and she quickly learned to tow the line. I'm sure she's seen what being president is all about, and that's great, but she wasn't calling the shots. (That we know of, lol.)

I don't think that qualifies me to run a record label by any means., which is what the most direct comparison would be. Do I think Hillary is "qualified" to talk about the presidency? Sure, but that doesn't make her presidential material.

I didn't say that to start a poop fling, just trying to illustrate that we all pretty much have some sort of knowledge from our partners' careers....and we don't live at their job or center our lives around them either. To say she's gained nothing from her life by Bill's side just seems ludicrous to me.

I'll give you that she did gain experience with Bill, but I doubt she learned more than Obama did in his 4 years of public office. I'm not going to claim he's more experienced, but it's false to say that she is, as well.

As far as experience goes, it just means that they know better how to manipulate the system to their own gains.

If your wife ran a record label out of your home, if you had no other job than to help her with that...if you traveled the world with her schmoozing other label bosses & spent most of your adult life centered on supporting your wife in her venture, I would actually say that does give you qualifications over some newb.
